We welcome applications from Cambodian and international families throughout the year, subject to available places. Students may join from Nursery to Grade 12, and our Admissions team will help determine the right starting point.

Children are placed by age as at 31 December, in line with Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport regulations, then confirmed through the placement assessment.

EY5 students use Primary learning materials and resources, which is why the learning materials fee bands EY3–EY4 separately from EY5–Grade 5.

Other Fees & What's Included

Other fees may apply, including a one-time registration fee ($700, due at enrolment) and an application fee ($90 per term · $180 per semester · $360 per year), plus optional services such as meals, uniforms, transport and Oxford International / OxfordAQA examination fees. A sibling discount is available for families enrolling more than one child; scholarships and bursaries are not currently offered. Fees are reviewed annually; the official fee schedule and the Tuition Fees, Withdrawal and Refund Policy govern current charges and payment terms.

Worked Example

A Grade 2 student, full year, paid annually:

$4,400 + $640 + $380 = $5,420
Tuition ($4,400) + Learning Materials ($640) + Snack Fee ($380), plus optional transport and meals.

MAKSON unites the Oxford International Curriculum (Oxford University Press) with Cambodia's national curriculum from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, plus a Chinese programme. Students follow one continuous pathway from Nursery to Grade 12.

Nursery and Early Years follow the Oxford International Early Years Curriculum with Montessori-inspired practice. Primary and Lower Secondary follow the Oxford International Curriculum. Upper Secondary prepares for OxfordAQA IGCSE examinations at MAKSON, an approved OxfordAQA centre, with A Levels from 2028–2029.

Yes. The Khmer programme follows the MoEYS framework at every stage, and students sit the national Grade 9 and Grade 12 examinations, arranged by MAKSON under MoEYS instruction.

English is the main language of learning, taught by international teachers. Khmer follows the MoEYS programme and is taught by Khmer teachers. Chinese (Mandarin) is taught daily by specialist teachers. See the Languages page for the time given to each language at each stage.

No. Khmer is taught at every stage as a full programme, not an extra, so students remain fluent and connected to Cambodian identity while gaining English and Chinese.

Not in Nursery, Early Years or the early Primary grades. For older students we assess English during placement using the Oxford placement test, and provide in-class support through our Language Support Programme, plus the optional after-school Language Remedial Programme. Admissions will advise honestly on the right starting point.

By age on 31 December and, from Grade 1, a placement assessment in English, Khmer and Mathematics. Secondary applicants also have an interview and provide two years of school reports.

Yes, subject to available places. Fees are charged from the term of entry.

All four campuses share the same curriculum, standards and values. Choose by location and by the stages offered at each campus. Book a tour at the campus nearest you; Admissions can arrange a visit to another if needed.

Yes, subject to available places at the receiving campus; any sibling or other discount may differ at the new campus.

A learning support team creates individual and group support plans, with targeted one-to-one or small-group intervention, a designated link person and regular progress monitoring. The optional after-school Language Remedial Programme supports multilingual learners who need extra help.

Through day-to-day communication, Parent-Teacher Conferences each term, termly progress reports (alternating Progress Reports and Semester Learning Reports) and an end-of-year report.

8:00–4:00 for Early Years and Primary, and 8:00–4:30 for Secondary — the same across all four campuses.

Yes. School transport runs from pre-determined city pick-up points with trained drivers and GPS tracking. Areas served and fees are on the Key Information page.

The canteen uses carefully selected ingredients and publishes a monthly menu; most dietary requirements can be supported. A snack fee applies for younger students and is optional in Grades 6–12.

Uniform is worn by stage: T-Shirt $10 (Nursery, Early Years, Primary) or $15 (Secondary), PE Uniform $20 (Early Years, Primary) or $25 (Secondary), and Class Uniform $30 (Early Years, Primary) or $35 (Secondary).

MAKSON is licensed and recognised by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, is authorised to teach the Oxford International Curriculum and is an approved OxfordAQA examination centre.
